Project REDThis is a presentation by Tamsin Smith, President of Project Red. Project Red was founded by Bono from the U2 and Bobby Shriver as a partnership between the Global Aids Fund and some big companies like Motorola, Apple, Gap and American Express. In the last 9 months Project Red already generated 20 million dollars for the fight against Aids in Africa. This amount is 5 times more than what the Global Fund raised from the private sector to date!

After spending more than 6 years with The Clorox Company and reaching success Tom decided to quit the corporate world and join his sister bakery business. In 18 years he took the bakery from $250,000 in sales and only 6 employees to $10.1 million in revenue and 120 workers last year.

Prior to becoming a VC, Joe had several roles as a CEO and he was the first board member of Invisalign, the company that invented the invisible braces. Our talk focused on his experience as a VC and on some of the successful companies that DeNovo has funded. We also discussed briefly the USF International Business Plan Competition and how he got involved with our MBA Program.
