The Finance & Investing Club organized a tour to Prosper which is known as the eBay for loans. Even though the company only started 1 year ago, it has already a user base of more than 240,000 users and over $57 million in loans! We had the chance to hear from Shira Levine, Prosper’s community marketing director, who talked about the company’s business model and explained how the process works. And in the end, we were fortunate to have Prosper’s CEO and Co-Founder Chris Larsen talk about the values behind the creation of Prosper and give his opinion about the differences between a Web 1.0 and a Web 2.0 company.
